Hello From The Thurstons
It’s HOT today in Mid-Michigan. In fact, I just had a text that confirmed 6 of the grandkids are coming over to swim this evening. I love it when they all come over.
First of all, I trust you’re all doing well and walking in the Blessings of the Lord. We serve a good God and He’s worthy to be Praised. I’ve found that I can’t out give Him and I can’t out bless Him. He always gives back more than what I have room enough to receive. Praise the Lord!
Marni and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary last week. We had the weekend off, so she and I headed to the Smoky Mountains for a little 5 day get away where we did some hiking, caught a few shows, went to Dollywood and did a little golfing. It was a great time away.
We will load up on the bus this Friday morning and head to Boyne Falls for a 2 day event at the Fly Wheeler Grounds, and then we are in two churches on Sunday that are in Northern Michigan (Brutis and Atlanta). Come on out and be with us. We’re going to have a lot of fun singing good ole’ Gospel Music and being with several other groups this weekend.
The following weekend takes us to parts of the Thumb and Eastern part of Michigan where we’ll be at Forrester Park, Marysville and Kimball, MI. We are also in Adrian, MI on Wednesday night, August 9th at Bethany Assembly of God Church.
The summer is always a busy time. We always enjoy seeing you all and visiting with you at our concerts. Be sure to visit our events page to confirm locations.
Let me quickly remind you of a couple of events coming up that you won’t want to miss.
The Gospel Music Singing Cruise takes place in January. We’re headed to the Bahamas with some of the best in Gospel Music. Anne Downing, Steve Ladd, The Guardians, The Thurstons, and many more. The cruise will leave from Jacksonville, FL and I promise you’ll have a wonderful time. The rooms we originally reserved sold out, so they’ve opened more rooms to us and a larger room for us to hold our concerts in. It’s an experience of a life time. You should go with us.
In November we’re hosting a 2 day/2 City event that will include artist such as, The Guardians, Steve Ladd (Formerly of Gold City), Mark Lanier (Formerly of Perfect Heart) and The Thurstons.
Saturday night – November 4th will be held at Family Altar Chapel in Battle Creek, MI.
Sunday Night – November 5th will be held at The House of Prayer, Haslett, MI
These two nights will be filled with some of the best Gospel Music you’ll hear anywhere.
For more information, drop us an email at info@TheThurstonFamily.org and we’ll give you all the information you need. You’ll find more information posted on our FB page as well.
We will be in the studio the week of August 14th for a few days recording the vocals on our new recording. We have some great new songs, and have put a typical “Thurston Twist” on a few older songs that you may know. You can’t go wrong pulling up some old classics.
Like always, we appreciate your prayers and the continuous support you show to our ministry. You’re always a blessing to us, and we can’t thank you enough.
One of the things that impresses me the most is when someone is led by the Holy Spirit to share a word of encouragement to us, or simply be a blessing to our ministry. There have been times we’ve been experiencing our darkest days and you never had a clue. Because you allowed yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit, you shared exactly what we needed that reminded us of the truth, that “We’re going to Make it”.
We’ll never magnify the problem, but we’ll always give God Praise for the Victory. As you have encouraged us, it’s our prayer that we’ll be a tool that God will use to be an encouragement to you as well.
Thank you for your kindness and your friendship. We appreciate you all and look forward to seeing you soon.
