We enjoyed our last “official” weekend of the summer. We spent time with family and enjoying some much needed time off. For those of you who don’t know this, we not only share in music and ministry 45 or so weekends every year, we also work full time. When I say “full time”, I wish it was only 40 hours a week. LOL.
We are all Thankful for the ministry that God has trusted us with, and we’re also thankful for the work we do during the week. Marni and I work in the Landscape Industry. We’re blessed to work with 4 of our 5 sons. God has blessed us with a faithful customer base, some in which we’ve serviced for over 25 years now. We brought home several awards last year and have a GREAT team, in which we are thankful for.
Many of you also know that Marni has a facility where she not only trains personally, but she has several clients that she coaches every day, and assist them with nutrition matters as well.
P.S. Marni has won 3 Gold Medals and set 4 State Records in the past year with her Olympic Lifting. She competes again this Friday night in Grand Rapids.
Monty is a vocal teacher at Holt High School, and has held such a position for almost 30 years now. Monty has taken his vocal students to the highest levels of State Honors and Solo Positioning. He has former students who work on Broadway, Disney and Chicago who make a living in performance.
I don’t usually share too much of what we do during the week. I usually stay focused on ministry happenings. I didn’t even plan to share, but I guess the main thing is to brag on God for His goodness, faithfulness and continued blessings in our lives. He’s a good God and so worthy to be praised. I guess you now know why we prayed and believed God for a bus for our ministry transportation. When you work full time and travel as much as we do, we need a place to rest and rejuvenate between services. Again, God is Good!
Fall is as busy as the summer with our ministry schedule. We have several exciting things on the schedule, including a 2 Night – 2 City Fall Concert event that happens November 4th in Battle Creek, MI, and November 5th in Haslett.
The lineup for those two nights will include Steve Ladd (Formerly of Gold City), The Guardians (just nominated for a Dove Award), Mark Lanier (Great Singer and Chart Writing Song Writer), and The Thurstons (you already know us).
We will be sharing more about this in the weeks to come.
Be sure to visit our events page and find out where we’ll be near you. Come out and be with us. We’ll sing our best and hope that through the words of our songs you are encouraged, blessed and edified.

In closing, let me say that we just completed vocals on a new recording that will release by November 1st. We can’t wait for your to hear these new songs…we even recorded a few old songs that I know you’ll like.
Before I go, let me again say how much we appreciate your friendship and continued prayers and support for this ministry. Your kindness and words of encouragement always mean so much.
Have an amazing week and God bless you.
