A Note from The Thurstons
I hope my e mail finds you well and walking in the blessings of the Lord. We all enjoyed being home last weekend. We all did different things.
Monty went to the U of M Football game with his son, and celebrated a birthday of his granddaughter. Marni and I got in a round of golf, and a couple of motorcycle rides that were about 170 miles total. We also attended the wedding of our nephew. It was also great to be in our home churches.
Marni and I attended a concert on Sunday night with our good friends, Brian Free & Assurance. I tell you what, they have some amazing songs that will flat out encourage you in your faith and stir your soul. There new singles is titled, “Cling To It”. I recommend you pull it up on Spotify and give it a listen. If you do, my recommendation is that you crank it up really loud because you’re going to be shouting and need the volume up to still hear the music. LOL. I can’t stop listening to it. It has really encouraged me this week.
We’re excited about loading the bus Saturday afternoon and heading out for 2 stops this weekend. Here’s where we’ll be.
Saturday Night @ 6pm
Wadhams Baptist Church – Kimball, MI (Pt. Huron area)
Sunday Morning @ 10:30am
Restoration Pointe Church – Southgate, MI
These are great churches that we have been to before and always look forward to being with these fine folks and sharing the good news of the gospel in song. We hope that if you live near these locations that you can join us this weekend.
After this weekend, we’ll be off for a few weeks. As you know, Marni is a World Champion Weight Lifter and it’s that time of the year that the World’s Competition is coming up and we will be traveling to Athens, Greece where she will be competing. Please keep both of us in your prayers for safe travels and timely connections, but specifically for Marni to be rested and both mentally, and physically strong for the competition. She has done some amazing things with this sport and really had the opportunity to connect with some great people and be an encouragement to them, as well.
When we return we have at the end of September we will be preparing for several great concerts in October, including a Thurston Homecoming that takes place at two different cities and two different churches. There is a flier attached where you can see all of the information for the locations, but here is a quick piece of information about these two nights.
Sunday Night – October 18 @ 6pm
Family Altar Chapel
Battle Creek, MI
Sunday Night – October 25 @ 6pm
House of Prayer
Haselett, MI
These will be two special nights with The Thurstons that you won’t want to miss. Be sure to mark your calendars not and plan to join us, and be sure to bring a friend along with you. We’re really excited about these two nights coming up in October.
Many of you have asked about our bus. Tumbleweed had the engine rebuilt earlier this year and she’s purring right along nicely. God was so faithful to send us across the right man for the job. He and his team did an outstanding job for us. The costs to do the work was a bit higher than we had originally been quoted, which isn’t a surprise. It’s like anything else. Once you get into it there is usually something else that makes sense to address while things are apart and/or going back together. If you all would pray and believe God with us for the final balance of this repair to be met, we’d be so grateful. We’re believing God for $10,000 to complete the final payment of the invoice coming due.
When we started, we had little to put towards such a big project, but God moved and has provided 2/3’s of what was needed, so this isn’t nothing for Him. He is able and continues to be a faithful provider. He said He would meet all of our needs, and I trust that He is a Man of His Word, and I know that HE WILL PROVE IT!! There is power in agreement, so you all agreeing with us will help us get this thing done and we can move on to the other things God has in store with this ministry.
As always, I want to again say thank you for your continued prayers, your friendship, and the support you show to this ministry by coming out to our concerts, buying our product, and being so kind to give into offerings that are received for the ministry of The Thurstons in each of our concerts.
We feel so blessed and encouraged by you all and look forward to seeing you real soon.
Have a great rest of your week. We hope to see you soon.
God Bless.
