Hello From The Thurstons – March 1st, 2023
Hello Everyone,
I hope my e mail finds you doing well and walking in the blessings of the Lord. It’s hard to believe that today is March 1st. Time is moving along. I always look forward to Spring. The sun is shinning more in Michigan, the days are longer, it’s warming up, and it won’t be long and we will be enjoying the smells of fresh cut grass and 2 cycle exhaust from the string trimmers and blowers. Yes….I work in the lawn and landscaping industry for my career, and I have enjoyed it to the fullest my entire career. I get to maintain God’s beautiful creation. It doesn’t get any better.
Jubilee In The Sun Cruise
We just returned from a week long Cruise with the Jubilee In the Sun gang. We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the sea was calm. We began several days with a Bible Study with our group. We had two stops. We visited Bimini and Nassau, both in the Bahamas. We even got to sing an acapella song in a beautiful old Cathedral in Nassau. We had music every night by many of Gospel Music’s Favorite’s, including The Guardians, The Burchfield Brothers, Heart 2 Heart, Jim Hutson, and many others. Of course, The Thurstons were on board and we were honored to have been asked to sing 4 out of the 5 nights.
Next year we will be leaving from New Orleans and will be making stops in Mexico. The dates for next year’s Jubilee in the Sun are January 22 – 27, 2024. I hope you can join us.
Upcoming Concerts
We have a special event coming up this Sunday Night, March 5th @ 6pm that Marni and I will be part of at Family Altar Chapel in Battle Creek, MI. Doug Anderson will be there in concert, so Pastor Travis Davis came up with the idea for an Alliance Reunion for the opening of the program. Before forming The Thurstons, Marni and I sang and ministered with Travis and Becky Davis as part of the group, “Alliance”. We haven’t sang together in a few years, so this will be fun. Hopefully we’ll remember our parts and all of the words. Plan to come out and join us.
March 26th is a big kick off day for a more consistent 2023 travel schedule for The Thurstons. Here is where we’ll be.

March 26 – 6pm/Cornerstone Baptist Church, Bay City, MI

Let me also mention our Annual Spring Sing on April 16th at 6pm that takes place at the House of Prayer in Haslett, MI. Our special guest that night will be the Chosen Worship Band, Ed Thurston, and The Thurstons. It’s going to be a night with Family & Friends. Be sure to reserve the date and plan to join us that night.
Schedule The Thurstons in 2023
Our schedule for 2023 is really coming together. When you consider what is scheduled now and the weekends we have blocked off for vacation and time with family, we only have 3 or 4 Sunday mornings still available for 2023. We have some Saturday and Sunday nights still open, but we are filling up fast. If we are not already scheduled to be with you at your church, please reach out to us today so we can secure a date to be with you. We always enjoy being with you at your home church, and we always enjoy sharing our music and ministry with you all.
